Owning your story is more than just recalling the chapters you’ve lived. It’s about claiming them fully and unapologetically. It’s about standing in the mirror looking at your reflection, and choosing to honor every wound, every triumph, and every version of yourself that brought you here.
i stand before the mirror
a mosaic of wounds and victories
each crack a testament to my becoming
each piece worthy of love
When you decide to own your story, you begin a dialogue with yourself that says:
I am not defined by what happened to me. I am defined by how I grew through it.
But this isn’t a linear process. It’s layered, messy, and, at times overwhelming. It’s easy to wish some chapters away, especially the ones stained with pain, regret, or shame. Yet, those are often the chapters where we uncover our deepest truths. They teach us to love the unpolished parts of ourselves and to find beauty in the rawness of our becoming.
To own your story is to walk hand in hand with compassion for who you were, gratitude for who you are, and hope for who you are becoming. It’s an act of rebellion in a world that often asks us to hide our truth and conform to expectations.
So, ask yourself:
How would it feel to release the need for perfection and embrace the freedom of authenticity? To let go of the idea that your journey has to make sense to others and, instead, honor the sacred path you’re walking?
I would like to share some Reflection questions that I’ve asked myself. Please feel free to journal your thoughts and what came up for you while processing your response. Don’t forget to start the conversation where you feel stagnant. We are all here to learn & grow.
What chapter of your life do you struggle to embrace, and why? How can you begin to see it as part of your growth?
What labels or judgments have you attached to your story, and how would it feel to let them go?
Who are you without the weight of your past mistakes or the pressure of future expectations?
What does it mean to you to live authentically, and how are you embodying that in your life right now?
If your younger self could meet you now, what would they say about your journey so far?
As I reflect on the chapters of my story, I am reminded that healing is not a destination, it’s a continuous journey of release, transformation, and rediscovery. To honor this truth, I am embarking on a 22-day self-healing journey to Bali, a sacred space where I’ll immerse myself in practices and workshops designed to help me shed layers and step deeper into my authenticity.
During this time, I will share raw and candid glimpses of my world~my daily experiences and the lessons I uncover while sitting in the moments that challenge and uplift me. This is not just a journey for me but an invitation for you to witness and perhaps be inspired to begin or continue your own path of healing.
Let’s walk through this together. Day by day, layer by layer, & chapter by chapter. Stay tuned for the unveiling. Join my email list and journey with me in this season of Aquarius!
With love and light,
